I know he was a lovely little critter, and you gave him the best life he could have had. RIP little Jimmy.
I am glad you put in that message, as my own personally feelings are mixed on this set of comics. But of course I expect to see your work and have a strong reaction and that’s why I find them so interesting to begin with.
I do have to say the At-tan series being focused on solely female experiences are the reason I find them so fascinating. Though At-tan, I find a new, albeit extreme representation of a female perspective in the comics that really nails that itself in.
The comics open a door to experiences I’m ignorant in, or worst case, complacent with. Not to the extremes laid out in the comics, but there’s a clear dark reflection of ‘manhood’ here I can’t say I’m completely disconnected from. Especially with online ‘man’ culture has evolved with the growth of the internet.
Anyways. There’s my little essay. I will always appreciate the fact you can dive into uncomfortable territories of varying view points for your art. Again, I appreciate your message. Because of that I can accept your art not as a way to spout some sort of personal political message. I’m made to read into it myself and take what I can from it. Your art inspires in many different ways, and makes me rethink how I view art and to an extent myself.
*edit that last panel is totally my new phone screen btw
Yes. Thank you for understanding. I typically let it speak for itself, but it should be my duty to take a socially responsible approach and write in description box. Even though I do not create for spite, I also do not compromise when it comes to what I want to see. There is some idea that if you're a creator, you need to be 100% flawlessly moral and support all the right things. It's not possible. Trying to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one. I am an individual, with my own flaws. I mostly like to get into the head of other people's emotions, too, or from people I've experienced.
I'm really relieved that you and others have taken an interest and can relate in some way, despite its contents. I had almost scrapped the original "At-tan Funnies" entirely because it came from a dark place and thought it would be poorly received due to that. But finishing writing it out more and creating this fantasy world has become a project I've grown well into.
Thank you again, you are a nice writer. Even though my art can be extreme, I'm glad you've put it into consideration and my message/explanation has eased some worries. (Haha! glad you like that last panel doodle, too)

Excellent piece. Love the glitch rain.
This piece rules. Such a great vibe.
The higher detailed pieces in the at-tan collection are always very intriguing to me, wondering where these characters fit.
